✅ How to Start a John Deere L100 Lawn Tractor
- ✅ Sit on the Seat
The mower has a safety switch under the seat. You must be seated to start it. - ✅ Check the Gear Shift
Make sure the gear shift is in neutral (N) and the brake/clutch pedal is fully pressed down. - ✅ Engage the Parking Brake
Press down the brake/clutch pedal and pull up the parking brake lever to lock it. - ✅ Disengage the PTO (Blades)
Make sure the PTO switch or lever is OFF. The mower won’t start with the blades engaged. - ✅ Insert the Key
Turn the ignition key clockwise to the “Start” position, then release when the engine starts. - ✅ Choke the Engine (if cold)
If it’s the first start of the day, pull the choke lever fully out. Push it back in slowly after the engine starts. - ✅ Warm-Up
Let the engine idle for 1–2 minutes before driving or engaging the mower deck.
